The Luxury Saleswoman Thought The Quiet Woman In Faded Jeans Was An Easy Target, Until Her Husband Walked In And Locked The Doors – Part 6

Chapter 6: Buying the Ground

Mr. Gable desperately tried to intervene, wiping his forehead with a soaked handkerchief. “Mrs. Kwon, I assure you, this does not reflect our corporate values!”

Dominic slowly turned his head toward the manager. “Shut your mouth before I buy your house and burn it to the ground.”

Gable’s jaw snapped shut with an audible click. He physically shrank back into the shadows of the display cases.

“I am buying the commercial lease to this entire luxury wing by the end of the business day,” Dominic told Khloe quietly, completely ignoring the horrified gasp from the regional director.

“That includes this specific boutique, Khloe,” he added, his voice smooth and deadly. “I can have her immediately fired. I can have her blacklisted from every high-end retailer in the entire state.”

He reached out and tucked a stray piece of hair securely behind Khloe’s ear. “Say the word, and she ceases to exist in this industry.”

Khloe looked back at Genevieve. This was exactly what she had thought she wanted when she was standing in the pouring rain yesterday.

She had vividly fantasized about this exact moment of sweet revenge. She had wanted to make the woman feel incredibly small, to make her pay for the indignity.

But reality felt dirty and incredibly hollow. It felt exactly like punching down.

Genevieve was just a miserable cog trapped in a superficial system of aesthetics and artificial value. She was heavily trained to enforce rules that were explicitly designed to exclude people exactly like Khloe.

“I don’t need her fired to know my own worth,” Khloe stated, looking directly into Genevieve’s bloodshot eyes. “And I don’t need my husband to completely ruin your life just to prove a point.”

Genevieve stared up at her, her chest heaving violently. The emerald crocodile bag was still clutched desperately in her sweaty, shaking hands.

“Put it down,” Khloe instructed coldly.

Genevieve hurriedly set the expensive bag back onto the velvet display cushion. She left entirely visible, sweaty palm prints all over the pristine green leather.

Khloe deliberately turned her back on the saleswoman and faced the trembling store manager. “We are leaving now.”

“Yes, ma’am!” Gable squeaked, nodding his head so fast it looked painful.

“Do not contact us ever again, and do not officially discipline her for this,” Khloe ordered, pointing a sharp finger at the manager. “If I find out she lost her job over this interaction, my husband will return.”

She let the heavy threat hang in the air for a long second. “And he won’t just be buying a commercial lease next time.”

“Completely understood, Mrs. Kwon!” Gable agreed frantically. “Absolute discretion, I swear to you.”

Khloe didn’t wait for Dominic’s reaction. She turned sharply and walked purposefully toward the exit, pushing the heavy brass doors open.

She stepped back out into the cool, blissfully damp air of the empty luxury concourse. It took only a few seconds for Dominic’s massive shadow to follow her out.
