The Luxury Saleswoman Thought The Quiet Woman In Faded Jeans Was An Easy Target, Until Her Husband Walked In And Locked The Doors – Part 14

Chapter 14: The Ashes of Privilege

The heavy oak doors to their master suite were violently kicked completely off their heavy hinges.

The thick, black smoke was less dense in this wing of the penthouse, allowing Khloe to clearly see the absolute, devastating carnage.

Her massive, walk-in closet had been completely, aggressively ransacked. But it wasn’t a standard robbery. The expensive designer gowns, the diamond jewelry, and the cash stored in the wall safe had been entirely ignored.

Instead, the intruder was methodically, violently destroying anything that held personal, sentimental value to her.

Standing in the center of the completely trashed room was a tall, heavily tattooed man. He was holding a large canister of lighter fluid, aggressively dousing the beautiful, vintage wedding dress Khloe had worn three years ago.

“Put the fluid down, or I will blow your spine completely out of your back,” Dominic stated softly from the doorway.

The man froze, but he didn’t drop the heavy canister. He slowly turned his head, a wide, deeply unhinged smile spreading across his face.

“Kwon,” the man laughed, his accent thick and heavy. “You really made excellent time. Did you enjoy the little show down at the docks?”

“Who gave you the access codes to my home?” Dominic demanded, stepping fully into the room. He kept his weapon perfectly, flawlessly aimed right at the center of the man’s forehead.

“A friend,” the man chuckled, casually pulling a silver Zippo lighter from his denim pocket. “Someone who thinks you’ve gotten entirely too comfortable playing house with a woman who doesn’t belong here.”

“I am going to ask you one final time,” Dominic whispered, pulling the heavy hammer of the gun back with a loud, definitive click. “Give me the goddamn name.”

“Or what?” the man challenged, flicking the silver lighter open. A bright, orange flame violently sparked to life in the dim room. “You shoot me? My crew already proved our point, Kwon. We bypassed your million-dollar security. We stood right in your wife’s most intimate space. You can’t protect her from us.”

“He’s right,” Khloe’s voice echoed loudly in the room.

Dominic’s head snapped slightly, completely shocked as Khloe stepped aggressively out from behind him.

She didn’t look like the terrified, crying woman from the luxury boutique anymore. She looked like absolute, cold-blooded murder.

She stood with her feet planted firmly apart, holding the heavy 9mm pistol exactly how Dominic had instructed her. She aimed it directly, perfectly at the center of the intruder’s chest.

“My husband can’t protect me from everything,” Khloe stated, her voice remarkably, terrifyingly steady. “But he taught me exactly what to do when someone touches what is mine.”

The intruder’s arrogant smile completely vanished. He looked at the trembling, terrified woman, and suddenly realized she wasn’t trembling from fear. She was trembling from sheer, unadulterated adrenaline.

“Drop the lighter,” Khloe commanded, her finger slowly sliding heavily over the cold trigger.

“You don’t have the nerve, sweetheart,” the man sneered, slowly moving the open flame closer to the fluid-soaked wedding dress. “You’re just a soft, rich housewife playing with her husband’s toys.”

“I am Khloe Kwon,” she replied softly. “And you made a massive mistake breaking into my house.”

BANG.

The deafening, violently loud crack of the gunshot completely shattered the remaining windows of the master suite. The heavy recoil of the pistol threw Khloe’s arms violently upward, and the ringing in her ears was absolutely agonizing.

The intruder didn’t even have time to scream.
