A Kind Woman Saved a Mother Eagle and Her Chick — A Heart-Touching Story

A mother eagle was flying to find food  with her chick when she was suddenly   trapped in a steel net on a fence.  She struggled, but the more she moved,   the tighter the net became. Every second made  her situation more dangerous. I was on patrol near the forest road when I  noticed something unusual from a distance.

When I got closer to you, I saw the mother  eagle trapped in the net, blood seeping from   her wing and leg. The situation was more serious  than I had thought. I quickly took rescue tools   from my vehicle. At first, the mother eagle  reacted violently out of fear. I stayed back,   spoke softly, and slowly moved closer so  she could understand I wanted to help.

As   I cut the net piece by piece, the mother eagle  gradually calmed down. She stopped struggling   violently. I removed the net from her wing  and leg and lifted her away from the fence.    It’s okay. You’re all right now. Easy. Easy. After rescuing her, I gave the mother eagle first  aid.

Her injuries were not light because she had   been trapped on the metal fence for quite a long  time. I roughly bandaged her wing and leg. I fed and cared for both of them, but they  were still very weak. I decided to place   them in an airline crate and take them  in my vehicle to the animal care center.

I drove my white police pickup  truck on the way back. In the back,   the mother eagle and the two-month old chick  were inside the crate. They cried and jumped,   making the crate shake. The homeless man  was startled and ran after her.   The eagle flew back to the crashed police vehic.  Why did you do that? I don’t understand.

I was   still lying motionless by the roadside next to the  chip. I brought help. The eagle cried loudly. The   homeless man ran up and saw me lying there.  Sarah, wake up. The homeless man was worried   and called out to me, but I did not wake up.  My breathing was very weak. He looked around,   but saw no cars passing. Come on, listen. Just  one beat. I feel it. She’s alive. She’s alive.

Keep going. Don’t look back. He decided to lift me with both arms and ran  as fast as he could. Help. Please. Somebody   help us. Officer down. Get a gurnie. Code  blue. Move. The male doctor came out and   told the homeless man that I needed urgent  surgery and that the hospital fee had to be   paid first. Push her through. Come on.  Move. Move. Keep her sats up.

More pressure on the bleed.  I need that clamp now. Yes, doctor. The homeless man waited anxiously outside  the emergency room. Later,   the doctor came out and told him the surgery  was successful. Successful. Thank you so much.   He went in to visit me. When I woke up, he  talked happily with me for a few minutes.

I never thought I’d see the sunrise  again. Me neither. But here we are. Get out. Who are you? I’m Sarah’s boyfriend.  Get out of here. Get out. I was just checking   on her. I said get out now.
